    • relatively common congenital lesion, present in up to 3% of the population. The defining characteristic is the confluence of radially oriented veins into a single dilated venous channel. They are the most common type of cerebral vascular malformation found on autopsy studies, and are often encountered as incidental findings on neuroimaging studies. Natural history is benign, but may be associated with cavernous malformations or other vascular abnormalities, which can lead to hemorrhage; aka cerebral venous angioma, cerebral venous malformation, and cerebral venous medullary malformation
