National Health and Social Life Survey(English)

  • queried a national probability sample of 1,410 men and 1,749 women aged 18–59 across the US (79% completion rate). This study found a higher prevalence of sexual problems in women (43%) than men (31%). Sexual problems were more common in people who had prior negative sexual experiences or relationships, worse physical and emotional health, and poorer health-related quality of life. Interestingly, sexual problems were most common in young women and older men (50–59 years)
