AHF

There are multiple definitions:

  1. antihemophilic factor(English)

  2. acute heart failure(English)

    • a ‘multi-event disease’ commonly characterized by unplanned hospitalizations or outpatient visits. Particularly, hospitalization for AHF represents a critical change in the trajectory of the disease process and is associated with a high rate of short and long-term mortality and subsequent readmission, a trend that has remained practically unchanged in the last decades. Although formally characterized by either a rapid onset or a progressive worsening of signs and symptoms, there is a large diversity of AHF phenotypes resulting from the interaction between an acute precipitant, a patient's underlying cardiac condition and previous comorbidities. Defined as the new onset or recurrence of symptoms and signs of HF requiring urgent or emergent therapy
