IH

There are multiple definitions:

  1. intimal hyperplasia(English)

  2. infantile hemangioma(English)

    • most common tumor of childhood. Unlike other tumors, has the unique ability to involute after proliferation, often leading primary care providers to assume they will resolve without intervention or consequence. A subset rapidly develops complications, resulting in pain, functional impairment, or permanent disfigurement. As a result, the primary clinician has the task of determining which lesions require early consultation with a specialist

  3. idiopathic hypersomnia(English)

    • hypersomnia usually starts insidiously. Occasionally, EDS is first experienced after transient insomnia, abrupt changes in sleep-wake habits, overexertion, mood change, general anesthesia, viral illness, or mild head trauma. HLA typing currently does not play a role in the diagnosis. A recent study investigated the dynamics of the expression of circadian clock genes in dermal fibroblasts of patients with IH compared with healthy controls. The amplitude of the rhythmically expressed BMAL1, PER1, and PER2 was dampened in cells from IH patients over two circadian periods, and the overall expression of BMAL1 was significantly reduced
