There are multiple definitions:
remote ischemic conditioning(English)
- protects against sustained myocardial ischemia. Due to overlapping mechanisms this protection may be altered by GTN, which is commonly used in the treatment of patients with chronic IHD. Has also emerged as one of the most promising strategies effective in preventing anthracycline-induced cardiotoxicity, having shown robust cardioprotective potential in preclinical studies and evaluated in clinical trials

reduced intensity conditioning(English)
- approach introduced with the aim of avoiding the toxicities of high-dose preparative regimens while retaining GVL effects, being of particular relevance for patients with CML because their median age at diagnosis is 67 years. The preparative regimen may consists of 200-cGy TBI, and GVHD prophylaxis using cyclosporine and mycophenolate mofetil
