whole cell phase II(English)
- antigen, often derived from Coxiella burnetii in Q fever studies, refers to laboratory-adapted, cultivated bacteria used for serodiagnosis or vaccine testing. Unlike phase I (natural) antigens, phase II antigens are used to detect specific antibodies generated during chronic or previous exposure, with WCII vaccines producing only Phase II antibodies
