    • assessed by exercise venous plethysmography. An important component of cardiovascular physiology by enhancing right atrial preload and cardiac output through augmented venous return from the lower extremity. To function normally, elements of the CMP must include patent venous outflow, competent venous valves, compliant veins, adequate range of motion of lower extremity joints, and intact neuromuscular signaling and function to provide effective calf muscle contractions
