SAH

There are multiple definitions:

  1. subarachnoid hemorrhage(English)

    • in contrast with hemorrhages in other locations, this is not a discrete surgical clot that requires evacuation. Trauma is the most common cause, and a ruptured aneurysm is the most common cause of a spontaneous type. Aneurysmal SAH generally involves the suprasellar cistern, where the circle of Willis lies. Traumatic SAH can be found as small-volume hemorrhages in the sylvian fissures and especially in the interpeduncular cistern. Traumatic SAH also commonly involves the cerebral convexity and can fill cortical sulci, which can sometimes mimic sulcal effacement
