There are multiple definitions:
member of interleukin-1 receptor family(English)
- secreted by myocytes during mechanical strain
- Myocyte / muscle
suppression of tumorigenicity 2(English)
- this interleukin-33 receptor is important for the development of peripheral airway hyperresponsiveness and inflammation. Also plays a role in inflammation, cardiac remodeling, and fibrosis, and although it is not cardiac specific, it is expressed by cardiomyocytes and cardiac fibroblasts in response to mechanical stress. Soluble ST2 serves as a decoy receptor for interleukin-33, resulting in reduced activation of the anti-inflammatory pathway and an increase in pro-inflammatory cytokine production
